The second installment of the Supergirl-Scooby Doo Team-Up was released by Amazon's Kindle Store and Comixology.com yesterday. Somewhat surprisingly, the Supergirl that Scooby-Doo's Mystery, Inc. teams up with is not one of the contemporary versions, but rather the original Supergirl (Linda Danvers) of the early 60s!
WARNING: MILD SPOILERS AHEAD!
In this series, Kara's still living in the Danvers household in Midvale, while attending an unnamed college. (Though in the original comics, she lived in the Alpha Lambda sorority house while attending Stanhope College.) Streaky the Supercat is there, too, and the story includes the origin of his superpowers ("X-kryptonite"

. As in the 60s, Kara is portrayed as "the smart girl superhero", and is shown working in her home science lab. The villain is a new character, though, who goes by the appropriate name of "Nasty". The story ends with Zor-El and Alura still trapped in a parallel dimension, where they are able to observe Kara's superheroic feats on Earth. Unlike in the original comics, they have not yet been reunited with Kara (and settled in the "bottle city" of Kandor). But the latest issue ends with a "to be continued", so that part is probably coming up soon. And as a huge fan of the original 60s Supergirl, I am most certainly looking forward to the next installment!
