I see from the affiliated site Melissa Benoist Daily Tumblr that she is no longer coming to Blackpool as she is starting in a Broadway play called Beautiful.

Does anyone know anything about this?

Hey guys. Went to the city today and got my tickets. June 13, 2:00 matinee. I went all out and got row A, orchestra isle seats. Very excited to see my favorite TV Actress starring on Broadway. It doesn't get much better then this. It's what makes life worth living.

Jealous, am I!! Take copious notes and share all details asap. So stoked for you, Muckle. Be our eyes and ears. And good choice on seat location. Go big or go home, right?

Cool for Melissa to perform on Broadway.

I was thinking about Supergirl Season 4 and the different filming times and when it may screen on The CW. The one that I would like the most is if they didn't start filming till say Mid August and Season 4 doesn't screen till Mid Jan and then could run for 23 consecutive weeks till Mid June (same as Supergirl/LoT/Supergirl this season). I think an entirely uninterrupted run for Season 4 would be really nice.

Maybe some of these hyper-negative, hyper-sensative shippers would lose interest, leave, and not return, as well. *drinks all aaround* *Dr. Pepper Ten for me*

Melissa on Broadway from June 7 to August 4. if you're in NYC during that time, it might definitely be worth checking out.

Cheers! :)

Looks like she’ll be playing Carole King in a limited engagement from June 7th to August 4th. I can totally see Carole King’s music being a great fit for Melissa’s voice.
Melissa Benoist Broadway debut

Edit: This makes me wonder is Supergirl will have a shorter season because she’ll be on stage until August and filming started in July last year.

Better keep an eye out for interviews on any of the NYC TV stations...especially WPIX, whose PIX11 Morning News interviews Broadway stars. But this will be, if Mel is seen on channel 11 an incredible Superman come full circle. For, the WPIX studios, at 220 E. 42nd or 11 WPIX Plaza, was the home of The Daily News, which was used for The Daily Planet in the Superman films. They still have the big globe in the lobby of the building.

WPIX by the way, turns 70 this year.

Wonder how she'll tear into say "I Feel The Earth Move" or "One Fine Day?"

I also realized this...will she have time for Comic-Con?

I'm skeptical of Starfurys claim about Melissa on Broadway. Don't you think that if she had been cast in such a promotion that other websites would have reported it, as well as Melissa herself?

I can’t think it’s not true if that’s the stated reason she canceled, it’s too easily verified. It’s great for Melissa to get to do Broadway work, she’s said in multiple interviews that it’s one of her goals. This is probably an extremely short engagement since Supergirl is wrapping next week and if 2017 was an indicator season four will start production the first week of July. No doubt Melissa already knows Carole King’s songs but there’s still rehearsal time necessary before she takes the stage.

I don't know if that is true.

What I do know is "Beautiful" is a musical based on the career of singer songwriter Carole King who has written and or performed songs in the 1960's and 70's

Did you know she wrote The Loco-Motion for their babysitter Little Eva in 1962 or co-wrote Will You Love Me Tomorrow for The Shirelles with Gerry Goffin?

Of course she became a superstar with 1972's Tapestry album which contained hit songs like So Far Away, It's Too Late and I Feel The Earth Move.

It has been a dream of Melissa's to be on Broadway.
