If you have been following reports about actress/singer and "Glee" cast member Naya Rivera, the news is now sad and official as she has died at age 33.

Variety reported...

Her body was identified at Lake Piru in Ventura County, Calif., the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office confirmed at a press conference on Monday. Sheriff Bill Ayub said there was no indication of suicide or foul play.

Rivera was first identified as the missing person involved in a possible drowning at Lake Piru on July 8 after her 4-year-old son was found alone in their rented boat. The search and rescue operation continued for five more days amid low water visibility and numerous obstacles on the lake bottom.

On her Instagram, Melissa Benoist reacted to Naya's death.

She has not left my mind this last week. It’s difficult to find words. There was an undeniable beauty that she radiated inside and out, and I consider myself incredibly lucky that I got to witness that up close even for the short period of time that I did. I was so intimidated by her, yet she had a way of disarming that just made you want to be around her, hear what she had to say (because it would undoubtedly be the sharpest and most real thing you would hear all day). She was kind and open to me when she didn’t have to be, when I was a naive, clueless and insecure newcomer. Bravely authentic, genuinely kind, incredibly talented and deeply loved by so many. Thinking of her family and loved ones. Rest In Peace, Naya.

:( :( :( :(

And, in another Variety article on Rivera's deathis a shocking irony

Seven years ago, the cast of “Glee” lived through a horrific tragedy: the death of Cory Monteith on July 13, 2013.

Exactly seven years after Monteith was found dead from an accidental overdose, the “Glee” cast lost another member of their beloved TV family, Naya Rivera, who was declared dead on Monday when her body was found in Lake Piru in Southern California where she had gone missing six days earlier, after an apparent drowning accident while boating with her 4-year-old son.

Very unfortunate news. It seems that the Glee curse has struck again. :(

I know about the death of Corey Monteith and maybe some arrests and such.

But...Jane Lynch who was on the show, continues acting, doing some cabaret comedy and singing and is the Emmy-winning host of Hollywood Game Night, and we know about Grant Gustin and Melissa's "super" success.

But calling a show cursed? Hmmm...that's kind of like the so-called Sports Illustrated jinx, you know if an athlete appears on the cover of that magazine bad luck follows them?

In other words, it's a little bit of a stretch.

Could be. But only time will tell. The curse doesn't have to hit everyone the same way and not all curses are fatal. ;)

They aren't always are. But things like serious injury are bad. This is what I meant by the bad luck that falls things that are hexed or cursed. And time will tell.

Melissa's post about Naya and her video about her DV experience were beautifully written (admittedly about heart-wrenching topics). I'd like to see her take on a writing project.

God bless Naya and her loved ones.
